Keegan Bradley holds off Sam Burns to claim BMW Championship
Keegan Bradley held off the fast-finishing Sam Burns to secure a one-shot victory at the BMW Championship in Colorado on Sunday.
A closing 72 saw Bradley, the last player to make the 50-man field for the second FedEx Cup event, finish on 12 under at Castle Pines - one clear of Burns, Adam Scott and Ludvig Aberg.
Burns carded eight birdies in a stunning closing 65, but narrowly missed out on forcing a play-off, while Sweden's Aberg was left to rue three back-nine bogeys in his closing 71.
Australian Scott kicked off with an eagle at the first, but also struggled after the turn as he came home in 38, including four dropped shots, to sign for a 72.
Bradley birdied the first before reeling off 13 straight pars.
He bogeyed the 15th after finding sand with his approach but reached the par-five 17th in two to set up a birdie and had enough breathing space to drop a shot at the last.
Watched by his father Mark, who saw his son win on the PGA Tour for the first time despite it being Bradley's seventh title, said: "I was ready for those cheers. It was a battle all day.
"You've got to grind it out every week, because you never know how fast in can switch. Now I go to Atlanta with a chance to win the FedEx Cup."
The win increases the chances of Ryder Cup captain Bradley being a playing member of the US team at the Presidents Cup next month
