Eternal Bernhard Langer claims record 46th PGA Tour Champions title

Bernhard Langer 2023

Bernhard Langer wrote his name into the history books with a memorable victory at the US Senior Open on Sunday.

Golf legend Bernhard Langer is ageing like fine wine.
The German, 66 in September, overtook Hale Irwin's mark of 45 which had stood for 16 years with a two-shot victory over Steve Stricker at SentryWorld in Wisconsin to pick up a second US Senior Open 13 years after his first.
Langer, for the fifth time, broke his own record as the oldest winner in PGA Tour Champions history at 65 years and ten months and also extended the record number of senior major titles held to 12, in addition to his two Masters wins on the regular circuit back in 1985 and 1993.
"Ever since I won my 45th in Naples in February and I tied Hale Irwin's record, everybody keeps talking wherever I play and people come up to me and say 'make this your 46th, make history here!"," Langer told Sky Sports.
"It's hard to get away from it but I did very well, I was able to block it out most of the time, try and stay in the present and I really felt at peace today.
"There's a lot more aches and pains than there were ten years ago but I still enjoy the game and if I play like I did this week I'm going to keep playing."
