Bryson DeChambeau shrugs off boos at US PGA Championship

LIV Golf player Bryson DeChambeau is in the mix in the final round of US PGA Championship despite a hostile reception from the galleries.
No support, no problem for Bryson DeChambeau.
DeChambeau received a hostile welcome after being announced on the first tee at Oak Hill and then proceeded to inadvertently hit his tee shot on to the fairway while the group ahead were still within range.
Asked if the chorus of disapproval was a motivating factor after a 70 left him three shots behind playing partner and fellow LIV golfer Brooks Koepka, DeChambeau said: "No, I don't care.
"I mean, it's not a big deal. I mean, they are going to do that no matter what.
"It's New York, and I expect it here, I appreciate the fans, them doing that to me. It's like, okay, cool, no problem. I've got no problem, either way. If we got applause, that's fantastic and if not, you know what, whatever. It is what it is. It still was fun today."
Koepka, who received a more mixed reception on the first tee, was asked about the atmosphere in relation to the birdie on the 17th which helped him claim a one-shot lead over Corey Conners and Viktor Hovland.
"I love New York," Koepka said. "It's always fun.
"Like I said, you do something really well, they are going to let you know, and if you do something pretty poor, they are going to let you know, and I just love that.
"I love when the fans are on you, cheering for you, or you know, giving you crap if you screw up. That's the beauty of it. You want that, or at least I want that atmosphere."
