Bogeys end Georgia Hall's bid as rookie claims maiden triumph in Hawaii
Georgia Hall suffered a frustrating final day as she was forced to settle for a share of sixth place in the LOTTE Championship in Hawaii.
Three bogeys in her final five holes sank the Englishwoman's bid as Australian rookie Grace Kim birdied the 18th twice - first to force her way into a play-off and then to grab her first tour title at only the third attempt.
Hall, whose closing 71 left her three strokes back from the winner at Hoakalei Country Club, had the compensation of moving to the top of the LPGA season rankings.
It was the former British Open champion's fourth top 10 finish of the season ahead of the Chevron Championship in Texas, the first major of the season.
China's Yu Liu looked on course for her first victory on tour as she hit eight birdies in a 64 that left her in the clubhouse lead.
But Kim and South Korea's long-time leader Yu Jin Sung, playing alongside Hall in the final group, birdied the last to force the play-off - the Australian repeating the feat minutes later to claim the win.
