On Sunday, Europe retained the Solheim Cup after a thrilling 14-14 draw with the United States.

Spain’s Carlota Ciganda secured the vital point with her fourth win from four matches at Finca Cortesin.

1010 – Megan Khang and Linn Grant get the first of 12 singles matches underway with the score tied at 8-8.

1232 – With all 12 matches on the course, Europe were ahead in four and down in five, with the remaining three all square.

1344 – Ireland’s Leona Maguire, who holed from 70 feet for eagle on the 14th, completes a 4&3 victory over Rose Zhang to give Europe the lead for the first time all week.

 

1405- Khang birdies the 18th to beat Grant and Danielle Kang defeats Charley Hull moments later to put the United States 10-9 ahead.

1433 – Anna Nordqvist, Europe’s playing assistant captain, defeats Jennifer Kupcho to claim her first win of the week.

1521 – After three-putting from close range to lose the 17th, Georgia Hall has to settle for half a point against Andrea Lee.

1523 – Lilia Vu completes a comfortable win over Madelene Sagstrom before Angel Yin birdies the 16th and 17th to beat Celine Boutier and take the USA two points from victory.

1531 – Gemma Dryburgh misses a birdie try on the last and the chance to win her match with Cheyenne Knight.

1547 – Caroline Hedwall, who had sat out the first three sessions, birdies the 16th and 17th and is conceded another on the last in a vital win over Ally Ewing.

1604 – Maja Stark beats US Open champion Allisen Corpuz on the 17th to make it 13-13.

1613 – Carlota Ciganda birdies the 16th and 17th, both from tap-in range, to beat Nelly Korda and ensure Europe will retain the trophy.

1635 – After waiting for the green to be cleared of celebrating European players and caddies, Lexi Thompson defeats Emily Pedersen on the 17th to make the final score 14-14.
