T20 World Cup final South Africa vs India: Tips and suggested bets

The two form teams of the T20 World Cup have made it into the final in Barbados as South Africa and India lock horns at the Kensington Oval on Saturday, June 29 (1530 BST).

India and South Africa both head into the final as unbeaten teams with seven straight wins under their belts.

Neither side has really hit their straps but both have been characterised by a determination to get the job and have been led by some brilliant fast bowling.

For South Africa, Marco Jansen came good in the semi-final to put his team well on top early and they never really looked in trouble against Afghanistan.

India were well led by a good batting effort before they too dominated with the ball in their semi-final against England.

There have been 26 T20Is between India and South Africa. India have won 14 of those, South Africa 11 and one match was washed out.

Five of those meetings have been on neutral soil with India winning three and South Africa winning two.

South Africa haven't played a T20I at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados since the 2010 T20 World Cup.

However, India have played here during this tournament, contesting their Super 8s match against Afghanistan at the venue just nine days before the final.

India vs South Africa: Suggested bets

India have been led well by skipper Rohit Sharma, who has their leading runscorer throughout the tournament and top-scorer in the semi-final against England. Look no further than Rohit to find India's top-scoring batter again.

For South Africa, Quinton de Kock has been the aggressor at the top of the order and looked the most likely man to rack up the runs. In this kind of final the Proteas might find they need someone like captain Aiden Markram to put up his hand.

Anrich Nortje has spent this T20 World Cup proving people wrong and could do all that again in the final. He has made it his mission to peg back the top of off stump and seems to be able to zero in on the spot he needs to find to castle his foes.

Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya have been India's strike weapons throughout this tournament.

This tournament means a lot to senior players like Bumrah and we expect him to be on song in the final.

This is a tough match to call a winner on, but India look the most likely to break the curse and win their first World Cup since 2011.

Predictions

Rohit Sharma to top-score for India

Aiden Markram to get the high score for South Africa

Anrich Nortje to lead the wickets for South Africa

Jasprit Bumrah to take the most wickets for India
