Third Ashes Test, Headingley - England vs Australia day two tips

England's Jonny Bairstow (left) and England's Joe Root leave the field
Mitchell Marsh and Mark Wood hogged the headlines on day one of the third Test at Headingley after starring with the bat and ball respectively. Check out our suggested bets for day two in Leeds.
Mitchell Marsh with a century on his return to the Australian Test team and Mark Wood with a five-for were the stars of the show on day one at Headingley.
England looked to get off to a flying start, which they did to an extent, after knocking over the Australians for 263. The concern would be their loss of three wickets. England will resume on 68 for three after 19 overs on day two.
Looking ahead to the second day of a vital Test for both sides, here are our suggested bets.
Next man out - Jonny Bairstow
When Bairstow is on fire with the bat, there are very few bowlers in the world who can keep him quiet. So far Pat Cummins and his bowling attack have managed to do just that.
Bairstow will return to the crease on day two with only one run off 19 balls at a strike rate of just over five. The English wicketkeeper-batsman, who was the centre of attention for his dismissal in the previous Test, has looked far from his fluent best. It seems highly unlikely that he'll be dismissed in the same fashion, but may well be next to go.
After a brisk start to his innings, Joe Root slowed down the tempo. If the runs continue to dry up for Root, he is at 6/4 to be dismissed next.
England to score under 274.5
England will be concerned that they weren't able to at least draw level with Australia in the first innings at Lord's after a position of strength at 188 for one. England are in a much trickier position this time and will need to dig deep to get close to Australia's 263.
It's not impossible for England to pip the Aussies and score something in the range of 270 and 300 at 9/2, but will require a major effort from Root, Bairstow and Ben Stokes with useful contributions down the order.
