New Zealand recall paceman Trent Boult and Kyle Jamieson for ODI series in England
Pace bowlers Trent Boult and Kyle Jamieson have returned to New Zealand's ODI squad ahead of their forthcoming tour of England.
New Zealand have recalled pacemen Trent Boult and Kyle Jamieson for the upcoming ODI series in England.
The vastly-experienced Boult, who requested to be released from his central contract last year, has not played for the Black Caps in any format since November 2022.
He has been a regular on the T20 franchise circuit in that time but is back in the fold for the four-match series, a sign that he will also be involved in the World Cup in India.
He is joined in a 15-man squad by fellow seamer Kyle Jamieson, who is on the road back after struggling with back problems over the past 12 months.
Tom Latham remains as captain as Kane Williamson continues his rehabilitation from a ruptured ACL, though the latter will travel with the group as he works back to full fitness.
All-rounder Michael Bracewell, who recently withdrew from a stint with Northern Superchargers in The Hundred, is out with an Achilles issue and both Mark Chapman and Jimmy Neesham remain at home on paternity leave.
The series, which follows four T20s, takes place between September 8-15 with matches at Cardiff, the Ageas Bowl, the Oval and Lord's.
Black Caps head coach Gary Stead said: "England has been an impressive white-ball side for quite some time and we're excited to be taking them on at home on the eve of the World Cup.
"We've obviously had a history of great games against them and I'm sure the four matches will provide all the usual drama and excitement.
"We're delighted to include Kyle in this squad, he's been working extremely hard on his rehabilitation following back surgery and we're looking forward to seeing him back playing on the international stage.
"It's also great to welcome Trent back into our ODI unit as he begins his preparation towards the World Cup in India."
