James Bracey hopes for a better 2022 after ending the year with a century in Australia
The 24-year-old signed off a rollercoaster year by registering England’s first century on Australian soil and with a renewed belief in his own game.
At one stage, Bracey was a serious prospect for this winter's Ashes series. However, the player slipped down the pecking order after a slow start to life in the Test arena.
The 24-year-old was introduced into the England team during the summer after Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow and Ben Foakes all became unavailable. The wicketkeeper-batter had a torrid time against New Zealand after producing eight runs in three innings and a scrappy performance with the gloves at Edgbaston.
It was an experience that could easily have dealt a drastic setback to the Gloucestershire player, but he showed his resilience after being called up for the tour Down Under with England Lions.
A second wicket for Jimmy Anderson as he finds Southee's outside - and James Bracey takes his first catch in Test cricket!
