Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has signed for Derbyshire as an overseas player for the first half of the 2024 English county season.

Derbyshire have announced the signing of former Pakistan paceman Mohammad Amir for the 2024 English county season.
Amir, 31, who claimed 259 wickets in 147 matches for Pakistan across all formats, including 119 Test dismissals, has had previous spells with Essex and Gloucestershire in 2017 and 2022 respectively.
Derbyshire's head of cricket Mickey Arthur told the club's official website: "Mohammad is a world-renowned fast bowler and someone who I am delighted to bring to Derbyshire.
"He will lead our attack in red ball and T20 for the first half of next season and I'm so excited to see what he will produce."
Amir added: "The County Championship is so special and I've always enjoyed playing first-class cricket in England.
"I've spoken to Mickey about the quality in the squad and I want to put in the performances to help Derbyshire challenge in red and white ball cricket next summer."
Amir will be available for the first half of the County Championship season and for the entire T20 Blast group stage.
