Ryan Garcia ranked above heavyweight duo as most marketable athlete in boxing
Garcia was ranked higher than heavyweight champions Joshua and Fury on the list...
Ryan Garcia is the most marketable boxer in the world, according to SportsPro.
The media company recently released their rankings for "The World's 50 Most Marketable Athletes" and the 22-year-old prospect was ranked above the likes of Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.
The California fighter came in at 12th while British duo Joshua and Fury were No. 31 and No. 32, respectively.
They were the only names on the list from boxing.Garcia - promoted by Oscar De La Hoya - had an Athlete Influencer Score of 97 while Joshua had 76 and Fury at 75.
Garcia's high score is partly down to his huge social media following with more than 7.3 million followers on Instagram. Garcia - who is friends with YouTube sensational Logan Paul - also endorses Tommy Hilfiger and has done model shoots for Abercrombie & Fitch.
Despite the global appeal Garcia has with hardcore boxing fans and the casual market for his aggressive style of fighting, "Kingry" is yet to challenge for a world title.
The undefeated lightweight is expected to face 2012 Olympic champion Luke Campbell next in a WBC title eliminator with the winner in line to face Devin Haney next.
UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov came in at No.7 while the most marketable athletes from one to five were: Lionel Messi (soccer), Cristiano Ronaldo (soccer), LeBron James (basketball), Virat Kohli (cricket) and Bianca Andreescu (tennis).
Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Deontay Wilder were the shock admissions from the list.
