Pride Park to host WBO super-middleweight title fight between Zach Parker and Demetrius Andrade
Derby County’s 34,000 seater stadium will play host to Zach Parker's world championship bout against Demetrius Andrade.
Parker, who is a Derby County fan, admitted it was a 'dream come true' to get the opportunity to fight for a world title at the home of the football team he supports.
The 27-year-old is unbeaten in his 22 professional bouts, with his last fight taking place in November 2021 when he knocked out Marcus Morrison.
"As a fighter you have various hopes when you start out in the sport," said Parker.
"I think every one of us dreams of headlining a show at the football team you support - I don't think it's fully sunk in yet to be honest.
"It will be incredible to walk-out and see the stadium packed with fans, I can't wait. Demetrius is a great champion and props to him for coming over here but I know I have the beating of him."
Andrade is also unbeaten in his professional career. The 34-year-old won the WBO light-middleweight crown in 2013 before moving up to take the same organisation's middleweight title five years later.
Promoters Queensberry Promotions have announced that £10 from each ticket sale will go directly to help Derby County Football Club through their current financial plight.
