Katie Taylor urges Eddie Hearn to make Chantelle Cameron fight in Ireland on May 20

Katie Taylor celebrates with her belts after beating Karen Carabajal to win their Undisputed Lightweight World Title fight at the OVO Arena Wembley

Katie Taylor has publicly stated that she wants to face Chantelle Cameron in Ireland on May 20 after her rematch against Amanda Serrano was postponed.

After Taylor's fight-of-the-year contender against Serrano at Madison Square Garden in April 2022, the rivals were set for a rematch on May 20 in Dublin's 3Arena (8,000 capacity).

Serrano has been forced to withdraw from this fight due to injuries after her victory over Erika Cruz last month.

It is instead hoped that Taylor-Serrano II will take place in the summer at the 82,000-capacity Croke Park in Dublin.
In the meantime, Taylor is left without an opponent for May 20. But with the 3Arena booked, she has announced that she wants to step up from lightweight to junior welterweight to face undisputed champion Cameron.
"Let's go, Chantelle Cameron," Taylor declared on Thursday via social media.
"Happy to move up in weight for the opportunity to become two-weight undisputed champion.

Taylor added: "Let's get it done, Eddie Hearn. This homecoming has waited long enough."

Cameron is also keen to get the fight over the line. Like Taylor, she is a Matchroom fighter, and she suggests that this match-up should be easy to make.
"I'm more than happy to accept," Cameron responded.
"Like you, I only want to fight the best. I'm not difficult to deal with so this fight can be signed, sealed and delivered in 24hours.
"DAZN, Matchroom Boxing, [head trainer] Jamie Moore, (Matchroom VP) Frank Smith, Eddie Hearn-let's go."
Taylor has been out of the ring since she made her 14th successful world title defence by beating Karen Elizabeth Carabajal in October 2022 at the OVO Arena Wembley.
Cameron is 17-0. She beat Jessica McCaskill last November to become the undisputed champion at junior welterweight.
