Jake Paul and MMA legend Daniel Cormier in heated exchange at UFC 261

Jake Paul and Daniel Cormier clash at UFC 261

Jake Paul: "Let's sign the contract. Let's run a fight. I'm not scared of you, DC, you're short. I'm looking at this guy like he's short."

Sometimes, you have to be careful what you wish for.
Especially when you're Jake Paul. The YouTuber was spotted at UFC 261 in Jacksonville during the final prelim between Randy Brown and Alex Oliveira.
The crowd soon saw him in attendance and made their voice heard by chanting 'f*** you Jake Paul'.
UFC legend Daniel Cormier wasted no time in going over to confront the YouTuber after exchanging words with him online.
Waggling his finger in the face of Paul, the former two-division UFC champion threatened to slap the 24-year-old at the event.

Paul - unbeaten from three 'fights' - is in demand after his knockout performance against Ben Askren generated an estimated 1.5 million pay-per-view sales.

He has been linked with a string of active fighters, including Tommy Fury - brother of heavyweight king Tyson Fury.

However, after a fiery standoff with Cormier, a showdown between the retired MMA fighter and Paul could be next - if the former puts pen to paper.

"I swear to god, I just saw Jake Paul," Cormier said at UFC 261.
"I pointed at him, I said, 'Don't play with me.' Because I'll slap him in the face. I don't play those games.
"Somebody has got to do something about this, Jake Paul," added Cormier on social media.

"I guess he gets to pretend to be a fighter for a little while longer.

"They're going to have to give him somebody real now, right? He's going to have to fight somebody real. The dude [Jake] can box a little bit.
"He kept popping Ben [Askren] in the stomach over and over again. He then pulled a nice overhand right, and caught Ben right upside the head, and put him down.
"Now he's doing push-ups and everything. Come on, man. This is crazy. This has got to be the craziest s*** I've seen in my life. This dude right here," Cormier added.

Paul - as expected - loved every moment of his exposure at the MMA event despite president Dana White threatening legal action if the social media star continues to interfere with the UFC last week.
"Cormier comes up to me, starts chirping. I'm sitting here enjoying myself with AB," Paul said.

"This guy goes, 'Keep my name out your mouth. Keep my name out your mouth.' I said, 'Wait a minute, Daniel. You're putting my name in your mouth first. You put my name in your mouth first.
"You talked about me on your little commentator podcast with Ariel. So don't come over here talking about how I talked about you.' I said, 'Let's sign the contract. Let's run a fight. I'm not scared of you, DC'.
"You're short.' I'm looking at this guy like he's short."
