David Avanesyan retains welterweight crown while Chris Eubank Jr faces frustration

David Avanesyan celebrates victory against Liam Taylor in the EBU European Welter title fight at SSE Arena, London.

Avanesyan produced a second-round stoppage in the main event after Chris Eubank Jr’s scheduled bout faced a cancelation.

The 33-year-old Russian produced a ruthless display as he dispatched Liam Taylor in quick time to retain his European welterweight title.
Avanesyan's power was clear for all to see as he forced Taylor onto one knee before stopping the challenger on the ropes.
This was the evening's main event as Chris Eubank Jr's scheduled fight against Anatoli Muratov was cancelled earlier in the day.
The decision was made after the British Boxing Board of Control raised concerns over pre-bout medicals.
Muratov was already a replacement for Sven Elbir who pulled out last week after testing positive for Covid-19.
It is expected that a new fight date for Eubank Jr will be announced in the next few weeks.
