Exciting super-featherweight prospect Charles Frankham is hoping to challenge for a title in 2023 after kicking off the year with a comfortable victory over Joshua Ocampo.

After a six round battle with his Colombian opponent, the 23-year-old was ahead on the scorecard and improved his professional record to 7-0.

Frankham was able to get his hand raised despite hurting his back in training which took him out for two weeks of his five-week camp.

Nevertheless, the 11-time National champion is now looking ahead to a busy year.

When asked how many times he would like to fight in 2023, Frankham told Planet Sport: "About five or six times.

"I would like to fight for some titles as well. It would be nice to fight for an international title or something like that. Then obviously step up into the British title either late in the year or early next year."
Frankham is currently working with Roger Lee after previously collaborating with the likes of Tony Sims and Angel Fernandez.
The Commonwealth Games gold-medal winner praised Lee's impact, saying: "He's good, he's a great coach. He's a lovely guy as well.
"Tony Sims is a very come forward trainer. It's more about physical and fitness with him. Then Angel Fernandez is about four million punch combinations.
"Roger is a totally different character. He's more of a back to basics, old school coach. And he's brilliant at what he does."
Frankham is one of many exciting young British talents working his way up the boxing ladder. However, the amateur European Champion is also progressing during an interesting time for the sport.

In recent years, internet celebrities and television personalities have regularly sold out arenas and attracted mainstream attention.

"It brings different people into the sport," said Frankham when asked about the rise of influencer boxing.
"But on the money side of things, some boxers are trying their whole life to fight for money that they're [influencers] getting in their first fight."
