Boston made a winning start to the season as they beat the Knicks 108-104 at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday.
Kristaps Porzingis exploded for 15 points in the first quarter while Jayson Tatum led the scoring with 34 on the night.
The Heat saw off the Pistons, 103-102, in a back-and-forth game in Miami. They led by 10+ on multiple occasions and even led by 19 in the fourth quarter.
Bam Adebayo scored 22 for Miami who had OK production from all of their scorers, but they shot just 40.2% and were let off the hook by Detroit’s 16 turnovers.
They’re terrible as a sizeable favourite, but the Heat fare well as an underdog, going 13-6ATS against teams winning 60% and they’re also 8-3ATS on the road.
Boston were elite at covering the number at home last season and while this seems like a disrespectful line to Miami, they’ve lost a lot of depth in the offseason.
One occasion where they fell short was their game seven loss to the Heat in the playoffs and we’re willing to bet tonight is all about retribution.
