Packers @ 49ers tips, picks and prop bets: San Francisco rush their way to Divisional Round victory
The Green Bay Packers go in search of another upset when they visit Levi’s Stadium to take on the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL Divisional Round on Saturday night (0015 GMT Sun).
The Green Bay Packers defied the odds when they marched into Dallas and eliminated the all-conquering Cowboys on home soil in the NFL Wild Card Round.
Their reward for such an achievement is an equally tough assessment. The number one seed San Francisco 49ers lay in wait.
They enjoyed a leisurely weekend off while the Packers were running up a 27-0 lead at AT&T Stadium last Sunday.
Green Bay ran out 48-32 winners. Dallas made a late push but the damage was already done by Jordan Love and Aaron Jones.
Love wasn’t that prominent but he was efficient, connecting on 16 of 21 pass attempts for 272 yards and three touchdowns, but it was the running back that stole the show.
Jones carried for 118 yards and provided 21 of Green Bay’s performance as the Cowboys defensive line, like those before them, had no answer.
He’s dashed for at least 111 yards in each of his last four outings as the Packers offence, averaging 32.75ppg in those contents, caught fire at the right time.
Dak Prescott completed 41 of 60 for over 400 yards but the key difference was the Packers' ability to sack and intercept.
The Cowboys failed to exploit Green Bay’s poor rushing defence but the 49ers with Christian McCaffrey in tow will do a much better job of testing their resolve.
On that note, his line has been set at 92.5 yards for this contest. That might be one to exploit as he’s rushed for 93 or or more in six of eight.
The main issue we think the Packers have here is that their victories seem full of anomalies. Love scored two touchdowns last season and managed three in Dallas.
Green Bay is not a good side at turning the ball over and forcing interceptions, yet they even returned one of their interceptions for a 64-yard touchdown run.
The 49ers are well rested and the likes of Brock Purdy and McCaffrey, who sat out their final game, have had a couple of weeks off to focus on this game.
We could likely see the best version of the 49ers against a Packers team that is going to suffer some form of regression.

Christian McCaffrey over 92.5 rushing yards
