Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes to play Super Bowl rematch in Week Four of new NFL season

Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady

The NFL 2022 season schedule will see the Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Kansas City Chiefs in Week Four Sunday Night Football primetime game on October 2.

One of the most eagerly-anticipated match-ups of the new 2022 NFL season will get a primetime slot as the Kansas City Chiefs visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week Four.
As the new schedule for the upcoming NFL season is released, the big games are being highlighted and they don't come much bigger than a match-up of two of the game's biggest stars.
One of the games released slightly ahead of the rest was the Week Four Sunday Night Football national TV game, scheduled for October 2.
It will see the Chiefs and Buccaneers play at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, with an 8.20pm ET kick-off time.

The dates for the NFL International Series games in London, Munich and Mexico City had already been released.

Mahomes v Brady in primetime match-up

Tom Brady is always in the news, and more so this year as he retired back in January, only to reverse his decision just a few weeks later.

His 23rd NFL season could well be his last, but he's back and hungry for an eighth Super Bowl ring.
Patrick Mahomes is one of the few players that can almost match Brady for star power and popularity in the league.
Mahomes has won the one Super Bowl, but lost out to Brady's Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV.
The game will make history as the only Super Bowl rematch to take place on the same ground, as the Buccaneers became the first team to ever win a home Super Bowl in 2020.

The Los Angeles Rams then made it two in a row with their success in Super Bowl LVI in February this year.

Brady and Mahomes have faced each other five times, with Brady leading the series 3-2 including his time with the New England Patriots.
