NFL: Ex-Patriots RB Damien Harris to take his game to 'a new height' with the Buffalo Bills
Running back Damien Harris is thrilled to have joined the Buffalo Bills this week, after leaving their AFC East rivals the New England Patriots.
Harris spent the last four years at the Patriots, where he rushed for 2,094 yards and 20 touchdowns on 449 attempts.
Last season was a tough one for the former third-round pick as he had to deal with an injury and was eventually leapfrogged by Rhamondre Stevenson on the Pats depth chart.
Harris has always relished playing against the Bills. He managed 100-plus rushing yards in three of his four career games against Buffalo, while also running in five TDs.
Now the 26-year-old is looking forward to donning the Bills kit during the 2023 season, when he will be joining fellow running backs James Cook, and Nyheim Hines in Buffalo.
"I can finally say it now, but I love Bills Mafia," Harris said via the team's official website.
"The energy, the enthusiasm, everything that comes with it, I've loved it ever since I came into the league just because I love sports towns and communities that really rally behind their team.
"I don't know if anyone does that more than Buffalo fans.
"I always said that playing against the Bills, I felt like brought out the best in me as a competitor and as a player.
"And from the outside looking in as an opponent, if I felt that way, then I knew that if I was able to join this organization, I feel like I could just take it to a new height."
