Crawley Town vs MK Dons tips and predictions: Visitors could edge first leg in League Two play-offs

Crawley Town and MK Dons will square off in League Two play-offs this week. Both sides won their home meetings, 2-1 and 2-0 respectively, earlier this campaign.

Crawley are in poor form, winning for the first time in five on the final day, but they’ve snuck into the League Two play-offs thanks to Barrow’s collapse.

The Bluebirds were unbeaten at home for large parts of the season and in the automatic race, yet no wins in seven allowed Doncaster and Crawley to steal a spot on the final day.

MK Dons have been going fairly well despite a 4-1 defeat to Mansfield which ended their automatic promotion push, but they’ve responded with nine goals in two matches.

Like most in League Two, these sides have struggled for consistency throughout the season. Crawley have dropped points in 12 home matches.

Likewise, the Dons have slipped up in 12 matches on the road including their trip to Crawley earlier in the season.

Although they’ve struggled defensively, a team rarely keeps Crawley out. Both teams have found the net nine of their previous 12 and 14 of 18 at Broadfield Stadium.

The visitors are prone to a marginal loss when they slip up on their travels, but for the most part, they’ve found the net and picked up points by outscoring teams.

Play-off matches can be cagey but we expect both teams to find the net in the first leg.
