Munster coach Tony McGahan is set to be without two Ireland international locks for their RaboDirect PRO12 meeting with Leinster on Saturday
Paul O’Connell and Donnacha Ryan both missed last weekend’s narrow win over Connacht at the Sportsground and are unlikely to recover in time.
Further concern remains over the fitness of Irish scrum-half Conor Murray, who is struggling with a knee injury he sustained during the Six Nations.
“Paul is making solid progress, Conor is in the same boat so we will get a better read on them on in the coming days, but Paul is doubtful,” McGahan told the Irish Independent.
“Donnacha Ryan has got a sore shoulder so he is in doubt as well.”
One plus for McGahan is that flank David Wallace suffered no recurrence of his knee injury after coming through 40 minutes of rugby at Connacht unscathed.
“David only played 40, it was his first major hit-out and that was the plan,” added McGahan.
