Beattie to join Montpellier

Glasgow number eight Johnnie Beattie will join Montpellier at the end of the RaboDirect PRO12 season, according to reports in France

The 26-year-old has represented Scotland in 16 Tests but failed to make the squads for the 2007 and 2011 World Cup tournaments.

Beattie has signed an initial two-year contract.

Beattie’s departure from Glasgow has already been offset, with former All Black Angus Macdonald agreeing to join earlier this week.

Montpellier, currently fourth in the Top 14, have also completed deals with Brive flanker Alexandre Bias and Perpignan hooker Charles Geli.
