St Helens hooker James Roby is hoping to dish out a healthy serving of revenge when his side face Wigan next Sunday
The Saints were knocked out of the Challenge Cup by Wigan over the weekend and also felt defeat at the hands of the Warriors earlier in the season.
As such, when the two teams meet on Sunday week, Roby is determined to see the result reversed.
“We have a point to prove at the Magic Weekend,” the 26-year-old is quoted as saying by Eurosport.
“We want our revenge and this means turning them over at Manchester.
“Wigan are our arch rivals and it is always a massively important game for us and the fans so I can’t wait to face them again.
“Hopefully there will be a large proportion of St Helens fans in the crowd that will get behind us. It is a fantastic weekend for the fans.”
But while revenge is certainly on the players mind’s, Roby admits that there are more important matters at hand.
“The Super League title is the only thing we have left to play for now,” he said. “So our focus is on lifting the Super League trophy.
“The Grand Final is the pinnacle of the competition and it is what the team works hard for all season. To have been there six times and only won once is really hard so we want to get back to Old Trafford and hopefully this will be our year.”
