Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean is urging his team to up their game and bag maximum points from their last six Premier League fixtures

Rovers in push to avoid drop Kean: Wants club to aim high

Saturday’s defeat to Bolton marked an end to a good run of form for Rovers which saw them earn three wins in five games.

However, their defeat to the Trotters, coupled with Wigan’s shock win at Liverpool, means the three clubs below Rovers are now just three points away from Kean’s men.

Fellow strugglers QPR and Bolton will no doubt be keen to overtake Blackburn before they play host to title-holders Manchester United at Ewood Park on Monday night.

“You just have to look after yourself. We have done very well of late, and will put Bolton down as a bad day,” Kean told Sky Sports.

“There are going to be many different twists and turns but we just have to try, as we have done, to have consistency and confidence.

“We have to put that back into the side because on Saturday we were below par.”

Rovers will look to complete a double over the Red Devils, with Kean adding: “There is no reason why we can’t equip ourselves well and get back to what we have been doing in recent weeks.”
