Orlando Pirates coach Augusto Palacios says the team will not let the occasion get the better of them when they travel to SuperSport United on Tuesday

The Buccaneers were toppled from top spot in the PSL standings this weekend following their 1-1 draw at Ajax Cape Town, with Mamelodi Sundowns hoisting themselves up to the summit with a 3-1 win over Santos.

Matsatsantsa also managed to climb to within a point of both the Brazilians and Pirates with their win over Kaizer Chiefs, setting up a thrilling finale to the 2011/12 season.

“For us this (SuperSport) will be another tough match against a team that knows how to win titles - but that does not deter our aspirations of wanting to get a great result against them,” Palacios told Bucs’ official website.

“Looking at our squad, I think we have big players with tremendous records as professionals, which I hope will carry us through - it is as simple as that. With three matches to be played, the senior players will play a big role in ensuring that we do not lose focus.

“We will apply our best possible strategy against SuperSport because we know what to expect from them at this stage of the competition.”

Pirates will travel to the Peter Mokaba Stadium to take on United on Tuesday, with kick-off scheduled for 18:00.
