New AFC Telford signing Luke Hubbins is determined to prove his worth at the club, starting with a concerted effort in pre-season training
The 20-year-old was released by Birmingham City at the end of the season and was snapped up by the Bucks as they rebuild their squad for next term.
“I want to prove to myself and my family that I am worthy of playing here,” Hubbins told the Shropshire Star.
“I am looking forward to showing what I can do in training and hopefully I can earn a place in the team.
“Then I will be able to show the fans what I can do - to be honest I can’t wait for the new season to get under way.”
The right-back is also looking forward to reuniting with former Blues team-mate Daniel Preston, who came through the City youth ranks alongside Hubbins.
“I really wanted to come here,” he added. “I’m good friends with Daniel Preston and I am really happy to be joining Telford and playing with him once more.
“We had a good relationship at Birmingham and hopefully that understanding will still be there once we start playing together again.”
