Charles Green believes SPL clubs are keenly aware of the financial impact of a league without Rangers, but are under pressure from their fans to reject newco Rangers’ bid for SPL status
Newco Rangers chief executive Green will present his consortium’s application for admission to the SPL to all Clydesdale Bank Premier League club chairmen on July 4.
To date, seven clubs have confirmed they will vote to block Rangers’ application, with Motherwell expected to bring that number to eight.
Green told the club’s official website: “I know the chairmen will listen. The problem some of them have to a lesser degree than I have here is fan pressure.
“I said to a number of them over the weekend that if they’re concerned about their fans, they should come to Ibrox for a week and sit in my chair.
“Fans are the lifeblood of all clubs and without them we have no product so we have to engage with them.”
