Oldham boss Paul Dickov wants his side to haul themselves up the npower League One table by winning their games in hand and finishing the season strongly

Dickov wants strong finish Dickov: rallying call

Dickov wants the Latics to build on their win over Walsall on Tuesday by putting together a winning run that would see them make up the ground on the teams above them in the table.

He said: “It’s easy to look at the league table and say things about games in hand - I know you don’t want them - but the likes of Stevenage and Brentford, people are talking about what a great season they’re having.

“We’ve got both of them to play and games in hand on them. We can draw level with them, if not go ahead of them, so that has to be a focus. It has to be the target for the players.

“There’s still a great chance for us to have a reasonably successful season this year .You look at the fixtures we’ve got and there’s no given right and no easy games in this division, but I believe we’ve got a lot of winnable games coming up.

“If we do that then there’s no reason why we can’t catch the teams who are sitting seventh, eighth and ninth.”
