Bidvest Wits coach Roger de Sa concedes relegation is a real concern as the Students’ winless run reached 12 games at the weekend
The Clever Boys, who have yet to taste victory this year, were beaten 3-1 by Bloemfontein Celtic on Saturday.
Defeat places them five points above the drop zone with three games left, against Golden Arrows, fellow strugglers Black Leopards and Platinum Stars.
“Of course we are worried. We are looking over our shoulder and hoping to get that elusive win as quickly as possible,” De Sa told the Sowetan.
The ex-Bafana Bafana goalkeeper felt his men had ample opportunities to grab the points at Phunya Sele Sele’s expense.
“We had a lot of chances,” he said. “This has just been the way for us, we can’t seem to do anything right. We created a lot of opportunities, but at the same time we gave away soft goals.
“We could have got back in the game, but we just kept missing and missing. If you don’t score, you don’t win. That’s it!”
