Rain hands Delhi the wooden spoon

Delhi were condemned to last place in the Indian Premier League as their wooden spoon battle against Pune ended in a disappointing washout at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi

And so ends a disappointing campaign for Delhi.

Just 10.1 overs were bowled on Saturday before the heavens opened to bring a damp end to two unsuccessful campaigns as both the Daredevils and Warriors finished with just four wins in the competition - Pune escaping last place thanks to their superior net run-rate.

Home skipper James Hopes had earlier won the toss and chosen to bowl with his side reaching 56 for three when the rain came. Colin Ingram (13) and Vengopal Rao (0) were the not out batsmen after David Warner had scored 19 from 10 deliveries before he was bowled by James Faulkner.
